CHANDIGARH: Top seed Dipin Wadhwa registered a 9-4 win over Gurustat Singh to enter boys’ U-18 quarterfinals in the ongoing Roots-AITA Champion Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament at the roots Academy in Zirakpur on Tuesday.

Top seed Dipin Wadhwa registered a 9-4 win over Gurustat Singh to enter boys’ U-18 quarterfinals in the ongoing Roots-AITA Champion Series (CS-7) Tennis Tournament at the roots Academy in Zirakpur on Tuesday.

Siddharth Baisaiti beat Mankeerat Singh 9-6, while third seed Aakarshit Mahajan humbled Saurav Yadav 9-3. Yuvraj Singh overcame Sarabjeet Singh 9-6 in the pre-quarterfinals. 

Nishank Thakur drubbed Ashish Bawra 9-1. Aditya Balda downed Dhairya Chadha 9-5, while Udayvir Singh mastered Samrvir Singh 9-2.

Earlier, before the rain interrupted the play, Rishi Dahiya overcame Aryan Windlass 6-1 4-6 11-9 to move into the quarterfinals.

In the boys’ U-14 pre-quarterfinals, Aditya Chauhan drubbed Parmarth 6-0 6-1, while Uday Batra came back from a set down to beat Shivansh Gupta 3-6 6-3 10-2. 

Sannat Goel downed Anujpal 6-2 6-2. Lakshya Gupta edged out Udbhav Kaplish 6-2 6-0, while Rijul Bhatia packed off Pratham 6-0 6-1. Siddharth defeated Kanwarpreet Singh 7-5 6-2.

Top seed Sukhmani Kaur, meanwhile, overcame Aarzoo Gill 9-6 to ease into the girls’ U-18 quarterfinals. 

Shreya Goutham dumped Khushi Dewan 9-1. Sana Khanna registered an identical win over Noorpreet Kaur, while Aditi Singh got the better of Yashika Sharma and Madhurima Mazumdar shunted Vanshita Malothra in the pre-quarterfinals.
