Tricity schools bask in Christmas festivities

Ryan International School, Chandigarh, celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm. The day began with a special assembly wherein Bible reading and special prayers were conducted.

Ryan School

Ryan International School, Chandigarh, celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm. The day began with a special assembly wherein Bible reading and special prayers were conducted. Christmas carols and songs were presented by students. This was followed by enactment of the Nativity Play.

Infant Jesus Convent

Christmas was celebrated at Infant Jesus Convent School, Mohali. Students of Class V presented a colourful programme, which included carol singing, dance performances and a short skit depicting the birth of Lord Jesus.

Manav Rachna School

A Christmas fest was organised at Manav Rachna International School, Mohali. Activities such as fun games and joy rides were organised in which students participated with enthusiasm. A magic show was the highlight of the day.

Shemford school

Christmas was celebrated at Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore. Classrooms were decorated with Christmas trees, bells, buntings, cards and candles. Tiny tots were shown an animated movie. The Nativity Play was enacted by students. Later, Santa Claus distributed sweets among all children.

AKSIPS-45

Christmas was celebrated at AKSIPS-45 Smart School, Chandigarh, with fervour. An inter-wing Christmas decoration competition was heldin which students participated with enthusiasm.

Guru Harkrishan school

Guru Harkrishan Public School, Dera Bassi, celebrated Christmas with enthusiasm. Wearing Santa caps, students made Christmas tree, stars and baubles and sang carols. The school was tastefully decorated. Wing in-charge Nonia Sodhi encouraged the students to spread the message of love, care and respect.

New Angel School

New Angel Public School, Zirakpur, organised ‘Jingle Bells-2018’, a Christmas carnival, on its premises. It was a day full of fun and activities. Principal Sharanjit Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur, Registrar of Sri Sukhmani College of Engineering, inaugurated the event by releasing balloons into the sky. The event included games, rides and exciting lucky draw for students.

Aanchal International School

Aanchal International School, Chandigarh, organised card-making and tree-decoration activities on Christmas. Students in colourful attire played games and enjoyed delicious food. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.

APJ School, Kharar

APJ Smart School celebrated Christmas with fervour. Students of Classes pre-Nursery to VIII presented dance and carols. Students of Grade VI-VIII participated in snowman activity. Principal Jasvir Chander encouraged the students to follow the path shown by Lord Jesus.

Hopper School, Kharar

Christmas was celebrated at Hopper International Smart School with enthusiasm. Students participated in tree-decoration activity. Santa Claus danced with staff and students and distributed goodies among them. Principal Reetika Singh told the students the importance of the festival.

St Soldier School

Tiny tots of St Soldier School, Mohali, presented a special assembly on the theme of ‘Let’s share happiness’ under the guidance of their teacher Narinder Kaur.They not only shared their feelings about what made them happy, but also how they could make others happy. The assembly concluded with a song. 

Govt School, Sec 38 (West)

Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 38 (West), Dadu Majra Colony, Chandigarh, organised an educational trip to the Kalpana Chawla Memorial Planetarium and Science Centre, Kurukshetra, for students of secondary and senior secondary classes. Students enjoyed and learned a lot through space theatre, space gallery, science of sports gallery, cyberspace gallery and energy park.

AKSIPS-125 

AKSIPS-125 Smart School, Kharar, organised sports activities for students of the pre-Primary Wing. Students exhibited their talent in hurdle race, hola hoop and minute games. Later, they were served refreshment. 

DC Montessori School

Students of Classes I and II of DC Montessori Senior Secondary (Smart) School, Mani Majra, participated in their annual function. Students of Class I performed a dance act to showcase the need for women empowerment. They also presented a qawwali to highlight the importance of education. The programme culminated with the National Anthem.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chd

Students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Junior Wing, Sector 33, Chandigarh, participated in a plantation drive organised by an Non-Governmental Organisation, Organic Sharing. The campaign, “Plantation of annual flower seedlings” was launched to attract butterflies to the area.

FESTIVE CHEER: Christmas was celebrated at Manav Mangal Smart World, Zirakpur. The campus was beautifully decorated and special assemblies, dances and video shows marked the celebrations. Kindergarten students dressed in red and white participated in games such as snowballing, reindeer ring toss, sense of sight and spin the wheel. Later, Santa distributed sweets among students.
