CHANDIGARH: Two persons were arrested for bursting crackers at Mani Majra in violation of the DC’s orders today.

Two persons were arrested for bursting crackers at Mani Majra in violation of the DC’s orders today.

Amit Kumar (38), a resident of Pinjore, and Sunil Saini, a resident of Mani Majra, were arrested for bursting crackers in violation of the orders issued on August 31.

The police said head constable Ranjit Singh, along with a police party, was patrolling the Mani Majra area when he saw two persons bursting crackers near the Aara Wali street. The police apprehended both of them and registered a case against them under Section 188 (disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) of the IPC at the Mani Majra police station. The bursting of crackers is permitted in Chandigarh on November 7 between 8 pm and 10 pm. — TNS
