Two Bhangra artists dead after motorcycle rams into electricity pole in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: Two young Bhangra artists died while another was left injured after the motorcycle they were triple riding rammed into an electricity pole at Sector 16/17 dividing road in the early hours of Thursday.

Two young Bhangra artists died while another was left injured after the motorcycle they were triple riding rammed into an electricity pole at Sector 16/17 dividing road in the early hours of Thursday.

The victims had left home for Bhangra practice and died while returning home. 

The deceased have been identified as Amrinder Singh (26) and Taranveer Singh (19), while their friend Manpreet Singh (20) was left injured. 

Police said all three had left the house at around 8 pm for Kala Gram, from where they went to Sector 22. 

The accident took place when the victims were returning to Khuda Alisher from Sector 22. They were heading towards Matka Chowk from Sector 16/17dividing road when the accident took place. 

The police were informed about the incident at around 2.58 pm following which the victims were rushed to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH) Sector 16, where doctors declared Amrinder and Taranveer as brought dead, whereas, Manpreet is still under treatment. 

Manpreet was driving the motorcycle. Police said there are no eyewitnesses to the incident; meanwhile, there are no CCTV cameras near the accident spot. 

The autopsy of both the victims was conducted and the bodies were handed over to the families. The cremation took place in the evening.
