Two builders booked for cheating

The Dera Bassi police have registered a case of cheating against two builders for allegedly duping a resident of Chandigarh of lakhs of rupees and failing to give the possession of a flat within the stipulated time.

The complainant, Sukhwinder Kaur, a resident of Chandigarh, who had booked two flats in Green Estate, Dera Bassi, in 2009, had filed a complaint with the police following which an FIR was registered against the builders.

According to the complaint, the builders had promised to give the possession of a flat in 2009. Despite taking the amount, the builder failed to give the possession of the flat within the stipulated time.
