Two kids rescued from child labour in Panchkula

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, has rescued two children engaged in child labour during a special drive conducted under the “Pan India Rescue and Rehabilitation Campaign — A step to Eradicate Child Labour”.

Ajay Kumar Ghanghas, CJM-cum-Secretary, ADR Centre, District Courts, Panchkula, said the rescue raid was carried out in Sector 4 and Haripur village by a joint enforcement team comprising officials from the Child Welfare Committee, District Child Protection Unit, Labour Department, Special Juvenile Police Unit, and representatives of Bachpan Bachao Andolan, among others.

Following the rescue, a Daily Diary Report was registered, and the children were medically examined at the Civil Hospital. Later, they were produced before the Child Welfare Committee, which directed that both be sent to Bal Niketan, Sector 2, for care and rehabilitation.

Ghanghas said the campaign would continue across the district, warning of strict action against violators and urging the public to report instances of child labour.
