The police impounded two tractor-trailers allegedly used for unlawful extraction and transportation of mining material during separate operations in the Barwala and Amaravati areas.

The police said during a late-night patrol, a team led by Barwala police post in-charge Gurpal Singh spotted a tractor-trailer near the Ghaggar riverbed close to Batour village. It was found loaded with mining material allegedly extracted illegally from the river. The Mining Department was immediately informed and the vehicle was impounded.

In a similar operation, a team led by Amaravati police post in-charge Rajbir Singh caught another tractor-trailer allegedly engaged in illegal mining near Burjkotian village.
