UT Cricket Association names selection panels
The Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) Chandigarh has announced its selection panels for the 2026-27 senior, junior and women’s categories. Vishwas Bhalla, Parveen Sharma and Gurkirat Singh Ahluwalia have been appointed selectors for the senior team. The junior teams will get handled by Ravinder Nain, Bharat Loomba and Yoginder Singh Bhandari.
For the women’s setup, Amit Prashar, Ambika Panjola and Ritesh Manchanda have been entrusted with responsibilities. UTCA president Saraansh Tandon said, “We have chosen experienced and capable individuals to ensure a fair and performance-based selection system.”
Gully cricket matches
The ongoing Gully Cricket Tournament, organised by the UTCA and Chandigarh Police, continue recording high-scoring matches. In a standout clash, Team No. 207 posted the tournament’s highest total 143/4 in 10 overs and went on to defeat Team No. 208 by a convincing margin of 60-run. Paras Rana scored 80.
In other matches, Team No. 74 registered a comprehensive 62-run victory over Team No. 73 after posting 130/6, while Team No. 15 defeated Team No. 16 by 27 runs. Team No. 106 secured a 24-run win over Team No. 105, and Team No. 9 outplayed Team No. 10 by 34 runs in the girls’ category. Close contests were also a highlight of the day, with Team No. 233, edging past Team No. 234 by 17 runs and Team No. 206 defeating Team No. 205 by 11 runs. Team Nos. 42, 143, 14 and 46 recorded 10-wicket wins in their respective matches, while Team Nos. 203, 170 and 142 also registered easy wins.
