UT makes solar panel installation convenient

CHANDIGARH: The city residents will not require the permission for the installation of the solar plant from the offices of the Municipal Corporation and the Estate office .

The city residents will not require the permission for the installation of the solar plant from the offices of the Municipal Corporation and the Estate office . Sources said the administration has amended the Chandigarh Building Rules (Urban) 2017 for this purpose. An officer of the administration said now the height of the module structure carrying solar panels shall not be counted towards the total height of the building as permitted by building rules. No approval will be required from the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation or Estate Office for putting up solar plants in existing or new buildings.
