The Chandigarh police have arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered three stolen cars from him.

The accused, Shikander Singh, alias Babbu (33), a resident of Balake Rohela village in Fazilka district of Punjab, was nabbed on January 29.

A team led by ASI Harbhajan Singh tracked him down on the Dana Mandi road stretch, between Golu Ke and Guru Har Rai Sahib, in Ferozepur district with a stolen car linked to an e-FIR registered at the Sector 36 police station.

His interrogation led to the recovery of two vehicles reportedly stolen from Mohali. The police said the accused was a welder by profession and addicted to drugs. He committed thefts to fund his addiction. — TNS
