Water shortage irks residents

KHARAR: Residents of Shivalik City on the Kharar-Landran road have been facing problems due to lack of drinking water supply in the area for the past few days.

Kharar, April 2

Residents of Shivalik City on the Kharar-Landran road have been facing problems due to lack of drinking water supply in the area for the past few days.

A delegation of the Shivalik City Residents’ Welfare Association, led by Manjit Kaur Bajwa, went to the office of the Kharar Municipal Council to submit a memorandum.

The residents spoke to the council president and the SDO in-charge about their problems. They alleged that several developing colonies near Shivalik City have linked their pipes with the water supply line without permission.

Bajwa said they had informed MCofficers about this, but to no avail. They threatened to stage a protest outside the office of the MC if no action was taken. Anju Chander, president of the council, assured residents that necessary action will be taken. OC
