Wheat procurement crosses 19,000-MT mark in Mohali

A total of 4,000 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat has arrived in the district mandis on Thursday, taking the progressive arrival to 30,562 MT in the ongoing procurement season.

Of the total arrivals, 3,000 MT of wheat was procured today, while the cumulative procurement has reached 19,360 MT, reflecting consistent procurement activity across all purchase centres.

In terms of lifting operations, 955 MT of wheat was lifted today, bringing the total lifting to 4,225 MT. The administration is making continuous efforts to expedite lifting to ensure adequate space availability in mandis and to prevent inconvenience to farmers.
