Woman found murdered in public toilet at Rose Garden in Chandigarh
The identity of the woman and the motive behind the killing are yet to be confirmed
A woman was found murdered inside a public toilet at the Rose Garden today afternoon.
According to information, police teams cordoned off the area soon after receiving the alert around 3.45 pm and began examining the scene for forensic clues. Several officers, including DSP Central, Dalbir Singh Bhinder, were seen gathered outside the facility as investigators worked to determine the sequence of events.
The identity of the woman and the motive behind the killing are yet to be confirmed, however, her age is around 30-31 years. The victim was discovered with a severe wound around her neck, possibly caused by stabbing, indicating a brutal assault. The body was covered in blood with sharp edge wound around neck. A forensics team was examining the crime scene at the time of filing this report and the body has sent for post-mortem to GMSH-16.
Police officials stated that all angles — including robbery, assault, and personal enmity — are being explored. They added that CCTV footage from in and around the garden is being retrieved to trace the suspect’s movements.
The incident has shocked regular visitors of Rose Garden, who expressed concerns over inadequate security and poor surveillance in public parks.
