It is worth mentioning that since the Shaheedi Sabha, a large number of street vendors have set up their stalls by the roadside here and a large number of people park their vehicles on the road for shopping and the traffic remains disrupted. Both the deceased were sitting on a table and the clothes were placed on a cot.

Sub Inspector Balwindra Singh said that in the statement given to the police, Ranjit Singh, the husband of the deceased, said that his wife and granddaughter used to sell ready-made clothes outside the district court. A speeding truck (PB 56 AV 1181) ran over them. They were taken to Fatehgarh Sahib Civil Hospital in a critical condition, where doctors declared them dead. He said that the police have registered a case, taken the truck in possession and handed over the bodies to the kin after post-mortem.
