Woman’s condition critical, no arrest yet

CHANDIGARH: The suspect who attacked a woman at her house in Sector 38 yesterday is yet to be arrested.

Chandigarh, November 21

The suspect who attacked a woman at her house in Sector 38 yesterday is yet to be arrested. The victim, Neelam Pal Singh, is battling for her life at the PGI. Neelam was attacked with a hammer by a person, identified as Neeta.

The suspect, who was wearing a helmet, had entered the victim’s house in the morning and attacked her.

She suffered serious injuries on her head and was admitted to the PGI. The victim’s nephew, Vishal Abrol, said his aunt was in the ICU.

DSP Pawan Kumar said the suspect was at large and efforts were being made to arrest him. Sources said the suspect had borrowed money from the victim and she was asking him to return it. This probably led to the incident. — TNS
