SIR: Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Andaman & Nicobar see rise in voters after release of final lists, Goa witnesses fall
Jaipur witnesses the highest rise in percentage of voters at 3.45, followed by Phalodi, Bharatpur, Sirohi and Bundi
Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar witnessed a rise in the number of voters after the final electoral lists were released today, marking the completion of the special intensive revision (SIR) there.
Meanwhile, Goa saw a fall in voters by 27,000 after its final list was released today post the SIR process.
In Rajasthan, from 5.04 crore voters in the draft list, the final list saw an increase by 10,48,605 to 5.15 crore, which amounts to an increase of 2.08 per cent.
Jaipur witnessed the highest rise in percentage of voters at 3.45, followed by Phalodi (3.22), Bharatpur (2.78), Sirohi (2.72) and Bundi (2.71).
Chhattisgarh also saw a rise in voters by 2.34 lakh.
While there were 1.84 crore voters in the draft list, the number rose by 2.34 lakh to 1.87 crore in the final list of Chhattisgarh.
In the union territory of Andaman & Nicobar, voters rose by 11,650 from the draft list of 2,46,390. In the final list, the voters' list stood at 2,58,040.
In Goa, however, the final list saw a fall of 27,426 voters. In the draft list, there were 10,84,992 voters. But in the final list, the numbers fell to 10,57,566 voters.
