1 held for stealing cables

TARN TARAN: The Patti Sadar police have arrested a man on the charge of stealing electric cables from border villages.

The Patti Sadar police have arrested a man on the charge of stealing electric cables from border villages.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Charan Singh, investigating officer (IO), said the accused had been identified as Manjit Singh of Sito Nauabad village.

The investigating officer said the accused stole cables from the tube wells of Ajit Singh, Balvir Singh, Partap Singh, Buta Singh, Subeg Singh and his son Gurtej Singh of Dubli village over the last few days.

The accused was produced in a Patti court, which sent him to one-day police remand for further interrogation in connection with the case. The police have registered a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police are hopeful of getting more information regarding thefts.
