14-year-old boy hangs himself

TARN TARAN: Gurdit Singh (14), a Class VII student of Thatha village school, committed suicide under mysterious circumstances at his home in Adda Chabal, 16 km from here, on Tuesday.

Gurdit Singh (14), a Class VII student of Thatha village school, committed suicide under mysterious circumstances at his home in Adda Chabal, 16 km from here, on Tuesday.

He belonged to a poor family and was under depression.

The Chabal police have lodged a report under Section 174 of the CrPC on the statement of his mother Simran Kaur.

The family had shifted here from Rajatal village, a few years back. Gurdit father had died in a road accident two years back.

Gurdit hanged himself from the girder of his room with a piece of cloth. He was found dead by his mother.

No suicidal note has been recovered from the spot, the police said.

Investigating officer ASI Vipin Kumar said that the body had been sent to the Civil Hospital for postmortem.
