The Department of Mass Communication and Video Production of DAV College organised a one-day inter-department media festival on Thursday. 

As many as 150 students from different departments of the college participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The main objective of the event was to find out hidden talent among students so that they can successfully choose the most suited platform for them in the years to come. The Department of Mass Communication and Video Production has been playing a major role in developing intellectual skills among the students apart from promoting culture in their minds. The department is earnestly involved in providing quality media education to the aspirants and focuses on imparting education through films and other AV mediums, stated the college. 

Principal Rajesh Kumar and Prof Arif Nazir, head of the department, welcomed various guests from media and sponsors. During the event, students from various departments participated in competitions like extempore, ad mad, caption writing, still photography, debate, film making, radio jockey, news reading and choreography. Students participated with a great zeal in the event and showcased their talent. All these events were judged by experts from the media industry.

Prof Arif Nazir, while briefing about the festival, said that such events pave way for the overall development of the students.

Students showcased their dancing and singing talent as guest items during this one-day fest. The final phase of the event witnessed prize distribution function in which Somesh and Mahima bagged the first position in debate, Prabhjot Singh excelled in radio jockey, Nikhil and team bagged the first position in ad mad, Yashita excelled in extempore, Sushant’s team bagged the first position in short movie making, Taniya bagged the first position in news reading, Nikhil bagged the first position in photography, Arun and team bagged the first position in choreography and Chahat bagged the first position in caption writing. The event also witnesses the presence of Prof Gurjit Singh Sidhu (Registrar), Dr Rajni Khanna, administrator, Prof RK Jha , Dr Renu Chauhan, Prof Kamal Kishore, Dr Ritu Arora, Prof Richa Mahajan, Prof Vikram chaudary, 

Prof Sania Arora, Prof Vani Sharma, Prof Saundarya Kochar, Prof Roohi Sharma, Prof Ferry Bhatia, Prof Arif Nazir and Prof Rajesh Talwar who were also present during the event.
