Officials of the district administration have no record of the allotment of official residence to dismissed DSP Daljit Singh Dhillon. Dhillon served in the district from October 31, 2011 to February 28, 2014.

He was recently dismissed for allegedly getting a Ludhiana woman hooked to drugs besides exploiting her sexually.

He resided here in a double-storey house which was built in 1988 for the additional deputy commissioner. The residence is adjacent to the official residence of the SDM at the local tehsil complex.

Maninder Singh, an employee of the DC office, on Monday revealed that the record pertaining to the allotment of the house to the tainted DSP was not available. The residence was generally allotted to either an ADC or some SP-rank official.

Sources say that during the heydays of militancy, the police had taken the house in its possession as there was no one to challenge the police those days. ADC Bakhtawar Singh raised the issue and got vacated the residence from the police three years ago.

The house is situated at a secluded corner at the complex where Dhillon, after working hours, was alleged to have been running his “illegal” activities.

The crime branch of the police, which has been investigating the matter, has sought information from the district administration regarding the allotment of the site to Daljit Singh.
