Amritsar, December 6

Activists associated with the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the CPM burnt an effigy of the Central government to mark the anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition.

They raised slogans ‘desh bachao, savidhan bachao’. The activists also accused the Central government of rising inflation, increase in petro and LPG prices, fall in currency value and rampant unemployment.

Speaking on the occasion, communist leaders accused the Narendra Modi-led BJP government of dividing the people on caste, religious lines. They stated that secular character of the constitution was at danger as all constitutional bodies were working under the influence of ruling party. — TNS
