Former health minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla, in a press statement issued on Saturday, expressed her displeasure over the results of the entrance examination held recently for admissions to Government Senior Secondary Residential School for Meritorious Students.
She said, “Though pass percentage of the PSEB government school results have improved, a number of meritorious students have failed to clear the examination. A child scoring as high as 95% could not clear the admission test whereas the test had questions from the Class IX-X syllabus. There should be examination for meritorious students without any kind of cheating.” She said, “Only 4,841 were able to clear the test. The entrance examination should be held again for those who scored 90% and above in their board examination, but failed to crack the admission test.” — TNS
