Chhina lashes out at state over crimes

Amritsar, August 13

Expressing his anguish over the horrifying rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl in Batala, senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina accused the Punjab government of showing a little interest in delivering justice.

In a statement issued here on Monday, Chhina stated that the government should realise the fact that crimes like rape and murder of women disturbed the deep social fabric and were reflection of a hierarchical, patriarchal society, which needed legislative, educational, social and legal remedies. — TNS
