The rural police have shifted three assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) among 45 cops, including head constables and constables, who have been posted at their home station or at a single police station or post for a long time.
SSP Parampal Singh said some of them had been stationed at their home town for decades. He said the step was necessary to shatter the network of drug traffickers and black sheeps in the department.Recently, the state government shuffled over 100 DSP-rank officials. Parampal Singh said, “We have been keeping a close eye on the performance of each and every cop. We want every cop to be alert and prompt in action against drug traders.”
