DAV students show talent in song contest

AMRITSAR:The Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Central, organised a national group song competition at Modern Jagat Jyoti School here on Tuesday.

The Bharat Vikas Parishad, Amritsar Central, organised a national group song competition at Modern Jagat Jyoti School here on Tuesday. 

DAV Senior Secondary School, Hathi Gate, DAV Public School and Holy Heart School, Loharka Road, bagged the first, second and third positions respectively.

Assistant Commissioner Shivraj Singh Gill inaugurated the competition while Cabinet Minister OP Soni gave away the prizes to the winners. 

While welcoming the dignitaries and participants, the president of the parishad, Prof HS Walia, informed that 80 students from different schools participated in the contest. He added that the main objective of the competition was to unearth the latent talent of the students and to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among them.   Project in-charge RD Sharma said the topper team would participate at the state-level competition to be held at Pathankot on October 21. — TNS
