IAFA to host play on Jallianwala Bagh massacre

AMRITSAR: A theatrical presentation on Jallianwala Bagh will be organised at local Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA) on Saturday.

A theatrical presentation on Jallianwala Bagh will be organised at local Indian Academy of Fine Arts (IAFA) on Saturday. “The play to be directed by Chakresh Kumar from Alankaar Theatre Group, Chandigarh, is written by Gaurav Kumar and Ankush and will be staged by the Art Gallery in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala,” said general secretary AS Chamak.

The play is a tribute to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh The chief guests will be IAFA chairman RMS Chhina and president Shivdev Singh. “A photo exhibition ‘Kaame Desh Punjab De’ (workers from Punjab) by Jaspal Kamana, in collaboration with Punjab Lalit Kala Academy, will also be organised,” he added. — TNS
