A cultural bonanza highlighting dance, fun and frolics marked the three-day Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Inter-Education Colleges Youth Festival-2018, which concluded at Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue campus, here on Wednesday.

Khalsa College of Education lifted the overall championship trophy for the successive seventh time. Students from 24 education colleges across the region took part in the festival. The Khalsa College of Education GT Road and Government College of Education, Jalandhar, remained the first and second runner-up, respectively.

Khalsa College governing council honorary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, who was the chief guest for the ceremony, hailed the students after watching their performances for the meticulous presentations and competitive spirits. “Such programmes provide platform to the students to showcase their talents in diverse fields of art”, said Chhina.

Tejender Kaur Chhina, guest of honor, distributed the awards to the winners and was overwhelmed to see the mesmerising performances of the students. She applauded the hard work and dedication of faculty and students for putting up such a great show.

The students showcased their talent in singing, fancy dress, mimicry, skits, debates, discussions, kawishri, group shabad gayan, poetry, painting, rangoli and cartooning. The bhangra and gidda remained the star attractions of the festival.
