The police have arrested a person with a 7.65 bore pistol, a cartridge and 950 intoxicant tablets. The suspect has been identified as Jaspreet Singh Jaish, a resident of Pandori Gola.
SP (Investigation) Tilak Raj said a case under Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act and Sections 22,61 and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him.
The police have also impounded his bike (PB-46C-7826) on which he was traveling at the time of his arrest at Sangha village on Friday evening. He had escaped from police custody when he was admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar. He was arrested in connection with a case registered against him by the Amritsar Civil Lines police. — OC
