TARN TARAN: The police have arrested a person with a .32 bore country-made pistol from Aladinpur village on Thursday.

The police have arrested a person with a .32 bore country-made pistol from Aladinpur village on Thursday.

The suspect has been identified as Lakhwinder Singh, alias Kali, of Dhotian village. The police have also impounded a Pulsar bike without a number place. A case under Sections 379, 411, 413, 414 and 472 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against the suspect.

Thieves strike at widow’s house

The police have booked unidentified persons for stealing a licensed .32 bore pistol, 19 cartridges and gold ornaments weighing 29 gm from the house of a widow.

The victim, Daljit Kaur, a resident of Mughalchak Pannuan village, told the police that she had gone to a nearby village to attend a marriage function when unidentified persons barged into her house by breaking locks and stole the pistol, cartridges and gold ornaments.

A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC has been registered against the unidentified persons in this regard. — OC
