A two-day national postgraduate meet was inaugurated at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences here on Saturday. Dean AP Singh said the conference themed ‘emergency medical care’ was organised in association with Academy of Medical Evaluators and Interpreters, a national society.
Dr Deep Narayan Sreevastava, honorary secretary, National Academy of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, inaugurated the conference while SGPC Chief Secretary Roop Singh was also present.
Dr Srivastava said emergency medical help played a key role in saving mishap victims’ lives. He said that in many cases there is a very small time window which is crucial for saving the life.
The conference is being attended by over 600 delegates and speakers from many institutions, including AIIMS, SGPGI (Lucknow), PGI (Rohtak), PGI (Chandigarh), UCMS (Delhi), Kasturba Medical College Manipal, GMC, Amritsar, and others.
Dr AP Singh said workshops, hands-on training and lectures on emergency medical care are being organised in the conference.
