Minor raped, youth booked

Amritsar, February 20

A minor girl was alleged raped by a youth in in Bhindi Aulakh village here. The incident occurred on Sunday. The girl’s family lodged a police complaint on Tuesday evening.

The mother of the victim stated that the girl was in her house when the accused, Taljinder Singh, alias Kaka, of Bhindi Aulakh forcibly took her to a cattle shed and raped her at 11 pm. She alleged that the accused threatened her of dire consequences due to which she kept mum initially. On Tuesday, she narrated her ordeal to her mother following which a police case was lodged.

The Bhindi Saida police have registered a case.

The police said raids were on to nab the accused. Medical examination of the victim has been conducted. — TNS
