Mobiles, Rs 16,000 in cash snatched from couple

AMRITSAR: Three unknown armed persons robbed a couple of Rs 16,000, two mobiles and ornaments at Thande village here on Thursday.

Three unknown armed persons robbed a couple of Rs 16,000, two mobiles and ornaments at Thande village here on Thursday.

Vikramjit Singh, a resident of Ishwar Nagar, Tarn Taran road, stated to the police that he, along with his wife, was going to his in-laws at Ibban Kalan village when three bikers youths intercepted them near Thande village.

He said the accused snatched their mobiles and Rs 16,000. They also took away silver anklets of his wife and gold earrings besides some documents and plastic money.

The Chatiwind police have registered a case under Section 379-B of the IPC in this connection. Police authorities said an investigation was initiated and there was no clue of the suspects so far.
