Amritsar, July 13
The Amritsar Central Jail staff confiscated a mobile phone from a gangster, Darshan Singh, alias Raja, alias Kanwada, during a search operation. It also found two mobile phones abandoned in different parts of the jail premises. The police have registered separate cases in this connection while further investigation is under way.
Two mobile phones were seized from another jail inmate, Bikramjit Singh, alias Rahul, the day before yesterday. Rahul has been in jail in connection with the murder of Hindu leader Vipin Sharma, who was shot dead by notorious gangster Saraj Mintoo and Shubham Singh, both of Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang. — TNS
