Mohindra hails officials

AMRITSAR: Punjab Health Minister Brahm Mohindra, accompanied by Revenue Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, met mishap victims at the hospitals and enquired about the treatment being given to them on Sunday.

Punjab Health Minister Brahm Mohindra, accompanied by Revenue Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu and Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharmsot, met mishap victims at the hospitals and enquired about the treatment being given to them on Sunday.

The ministers also held a meeting with district officials to expedite the rehabilitation and relief efforts for the victims and their kin. Mohindra also appreciated the efforts of the district administration and health officials for their efforts. He also thanked the NGOs, social service organisations and others persons who came forward to help the victim families in the time of crisis and donated blood, arranged food and provided help in many ways.

The health minister directed the health authorities for a regular monitoring of the treatment being given to the injured persons. “Doctors can also refer any injured person to speciality hospitals if they feel so keeping in view the needs of person under treatment. The state government would bear all the expenses,” he said.

He said the residents needed to be aware of the misinformation being spread by certain people with vested interests. He urged them to maintain peace for effective implementation of the relief and rehabilitation process.

The ministers directed the district administration to complete the process of identification of victim families to provide compensation. The ministers also decided to provide skill training to the members of victim families to secure their future. The ministers also appealed to the social organisations to adopt those children whose parents have been killed.
