Nagar kirtan gets warm welcome at Khadoor Sahib

TARN TARAN: Dedicating to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a nagar kirtan started from Kathmandu was given a warm welcome at Khadoor Sahib, 25 km from here, on Wednesday.

Dedicating to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a nagar kirtan started from Kathmandu was given a warm welcome at Khadoor Sahib, 25 km from here, on Wednesday. The palanquin of Guru Granth Sahib was placed in a flower-decked van, which was led by panj piaras. The nagar kirtan left Kathmandu on October 4.

Gokal Nand Swami, head of Rajeshwari Muth in Kathmandu, said Guru Nanak’s bani was a key to all solution in the universe. He said Guru Nanak Dev stayed in Nepal for a year as well. Baba Sewa Singh, head of the Kar Sewa Sect Khadoor Sahib, honoured members of Guru Nanak Dev Sewa Society, USA, who organised the nagar kirtan.
