NGO starts distribution of dialysis kits

AMRITSAR: The Sarbat Da Bhalla Trust, a Dubai-based NGO run by Dr SP Singh Oberoi, has started providing dialysis kits free of cost to patients with kidney problems at Guru Nanak Dev hospital here.

The Sarbat Da Bhalla Trust, a Dubai-based NGO run by Dr SP Singh Oberoi, has started providing dialysis kits free of cost to patients with kidney problems at Guru Nanak Dev hospital here. Trust’s Majha zone president Sukhjinder Singh initiated the free service by distributing kits to patients in the presence of medical superintendent Dr JS Kular and in-charge nephrology Dr Shiv Charan.

Dr Kular said around 65 patients come for dialysis every month and as such around 150 kits are needed. Sukhjinder said the trust would distribute around one lakh dialysis kits in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Cochin till March 31. He added the distribution would also continue after the set day so that poor patients are able to get treatment.
