One held for stealing wheat

TARN TARAN: The Kacha Pakka police have arrested a person for allegedly stealing wheat and rice bags from godowns of government procurement agencies.

The Kacha Pakka police have arrested a person for allegedly stealing wheat and rice bags from godowns of government procurement agencies. He has been identified as Nishan Singh of Maniala Jai Singh village. His two associates, Pal Singh of the same village and Nishan Singh of Sakhira village, along with a few unidentified persons, are at large. ASI Dalbir Singh, investigating officer, said a case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC was registered against the accused. The ASI said wheat weighing 17 quintal had been recovered from those arrested. Further investigation is under way, he added. — OC
