Sarabjit Singh Chhina, president, Confederation of UNESCO Clubs in India, will lead a team of experts to hold a three-day workshop-cum-seminar on climate change and environmental imbalance.

In a briefing held by the All India Pingalwara Charitable Society, the Confederation of UNESCO Clubs in India, with collaboration of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society and Sri Guru Harkrishan Public School, Majitha Road bypass, will hold the a conference from April 20 to 22 on the issue of environmental degradation and climate change. About 50 delegates representing UNESCO clubs of 20 states in India will participate.

“UNESCO clubs are functioning in 192 countries. In India, there are about 1,500 clubs. These clubs are propagating the principles of the UNO. The conference is aimed to send the message in different languages and states about the serious emerging problem. Experts will inform about the environmental threat,” said Chhina.

The inaugural function will be attended by Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Revenue Minister, and Karamjit Singh, District and Sessions Judge. Delegates from different states shall deliver the lectures on the concerned issue. Dr Inderjit Kaur said environment was being polluted all over the country and Pingalwara would collaborate with more parties towards the cause.
