The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Fortis Escort Hospital organised a walkathon to create awareness and promote organ donation here on Sunday.

Over 200 people from different walks of life along with hospital staff and students from medical profession participated in the event.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Ravinder Singh; Regional Director, PHD Chamber of Commerce Madhu Pillai and resident director Jaideep Singh flagged off the walkathon from Company Bagh.

The 5-km walk finished at PITEX in Ranjit Avenue. Atul Sharma of the hospital said, “There is an imminent need to promote organ donation as one deceased donor can save up to eight lives.”
