Woman ends life

BATALA: A 25-year-old woman, identified as Amanpreet Kaur, committed suicide at Bhandari Mohalla here on Friday.

A 25-year-old woman, identified as Amanpreet Kaur, committed suicide at Bhandari Mohalla here on Friday. She was allegedly being harassed by her neighbours.

The city police have registered a case under Section 306 of the IPC on a complaint filed by deceased’s father Kulwant Singh.

Kulwant said his daughter Amanpreet Kaur was married to Sandeep Singh in 2013. He held Amandeep Singh and Sonu responsible for her extreme step.

SSP Opinderjit Singh Ghuman said he had formed a team of senior officers to investigate the matter. “The accused will be rounded up soon,” he added.
