1 arrested for theft at village gurdwara

MALOUT: The Lambi police have arrested a resident of Bhullarwala village for allegedly stealing Rs 2,500 from the donation box of a gurdwara at the village on Wednesday night.

The Lambi police have arrested a resident of Bhullarwala village for allegedly stealing Rs 2,500 from the donation box of a gurdwara at the village on Wednesday night.

The gurdwara ‘granthi’ (priest), Joginder Singh, had on Thursday lodged a complaint with the police alleging that when he woke up on Thursday morning, he found the lock of the gurdwara broken and donation box looted.

As per the FIR, the footage of CCTV cameras installed there was checked and the accused was identified as Gurjeet Singh.

The police have arrested him after registering a case under Sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code against him.
