The local police confiscated 35 boxes of liquor brought from Haryana from a Scorpio car near Badbar village on Friday night. Some unidentified persons fled from the spot after seeing officials of the Excise Department and the police, leaving the car behind.
A case under the Excise Act has been registered in this regard. According to the FIR registered at the Dhanauala police station, Excise Inspector Rajesh Kumar, along with a police team, was checking vehicles near the Badbar bus stand. After seeing them, some unidentified persons fled from the spot, leaving their Scorpio car at some distance.
When the cops checked the car, 35 boxes of liquor brought from Haryana were seized.
ASI Manjit Singh, who is investigating the matter, could not be contacted despite repeated attempts.
