Canada dream costs man Rs 12.8 lakh

MUKTSAR: The Muktsar (City) police on Thursday booked three persons, including a woman, for duping a resident of Ramgarh Chungha village of Rs 12.8 lakh over sending him to Canada.

The Muktsar (City) police on Thursday booked three persons, including a woman, for duping a resident of Ramgarh Chungha village of Rs 12.8 lakh over sending him to Canada.

Gurwinder Singh Dhillon, in his complaint to the police, has stated that Paramjit Singh of Bagha Purana had demanded Rs 22 lakh last year, which he paid in instalments. “However, neither they returned the money nor fulfilled the agreement,” alleged Gurwinder.

Those booked are Paramjit Singh, Mukhtiar Singh and Rekha Devi of Bagha Purana. However, they are yet to be arrested.
