The Bathinda Retail Chemists’ Association on Friday held a meeting regarding their problems. Health Department drug inspectors Sishan Mittal and Omkar Singh were the chief guests.

At the meeting, Sishan Mittal said under the Tandarust Punjab Mission and the anti-drug drive on the instructions of the state government they were holding meetings with the associations and under that chain only today they had held a meeting with chemists.

They told chemists that they should keep a record of all the medicines which came under schedule H 1. The chemists who would not keep the record, action would be initiated against them by the department.

Onkar Singh said as per the state government instructions it was mandatory for every chemist shop to have pharmacists at their shop. He said that habit forming drugs cannot be sold without doctor’s prescription. He assured the chemists that they will not harass them at all and also appeal them to cooperate with the district drug authority.

Retail Chemists’ Association president Ashok Ballianwali assured that they would cooperate with drug authority in all possible ways.

In the meeting Pritam Singh Virk, Jiwan Nohria, Yashpal Garg, Suresh Tayal, Harmail Singh, Ramesh Garg, Pawandeep Grover, Raj Garg, GP Singla, Jiya Lal, Somnath Bansal, Kewal Bansal, Mohinder Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Manoj Kumar and others were present.
