BATHINDA: Councillors are a disturbed lot as their complaints are not being resolved these days.

Bathinda, December 4

Councillors are a disturbed lot as their complaints are not being resolved these days. Councillors come to the Mayor’s office with complaints, most of which are concerning Triveni company and sanitation.

They are assured by the Mayor that their problems would be addressed soon, but these remain unaddressed for much time.

Ward No. 22 councillor Sukhmander Singh had written a letter to the MCB Commissioner, demanding the shifting of the sanitary supervisor in his ward.

He had stated that in his ward, including Namdev Road, Namdev Marg, Shiv Colony, Sarabha Nagar, Prajapat Colony and Azad Nagar and other posh areas, one could always witness heaps of garbage.

He claimed that when they asked the sanitary supervisor about this, his reply was unsatisfactory.

He said this was the reason that many times residents of his ward had come to him over the issue. This was also denting the image of the Municipal Corporation of Bathinda (MCB), he added.

The councillor said as many hospitals were located in their areas, another supervisor should be deputed here.

Pardeep Kumar Gola, councillor from Ward Number 42, had lodged a complaint with Mayor Balwant Rai Nath over the presence of a large number of animals at Dasehra ground and lack of cleanliness in this area.

Mayor Balwant Rai Nath listened to the grievances of the councillors and assured them of getting them resolved at the earliest.
