On the first day of filing nomination papers in the Faridkot parliamentary constituency, Badal Singh, a daily wager at a brick kiln in Bhallur village of Moga district, filed his papers on Monday.
A Class 8 pass-out, 52-year-old Badal had contested the Assembly elections from the Ferozepur Rural seat in February 2017. He was the candidate of the Swabhiman Party. He polled only 261 votes.
In his affidavit filed with the District Electorate Officer, Badal claimed to have Rs50,000 in cash, a house of about 1,100 square yards and a bike as his assets.
