Faridkot, December 4
DC Kumar Saurabh Raj held a ‘janata darbar’ here on Wednesday.
The DC received 34 complaints, including property disputes, farmers’ debt, poor condition of sewer and drains, pothole-ridden roads, erratic supply of potable water, encroachment on public properties, delay in getting compensation after acquisition of land and non-releasing of tubewell connections to freedom fighters, during the ‘janata darbar’.
The DC said of the 34 complaints, 12 were resolved on the spot as heads of all departments at the district level were present on the occasion. The remaining 22 complaints were sent to the departments concerned.
“Instructions have been issued to all departments to make speedy disposal of the complaints. Officials have been told not to keep these lingering for months. We have decided to hold a ‘janata darbar’ every Wednesday in Faridkot for fast and speedy disposal of complaints. In the ‘darbar’, any person can approach the authorities with a written complaint,” he added.
