High drama was witnessed at the Chheharta police station when cops allegedly took a local journalist into illegal custody and manhandled him.

The journalist had gone to the police station to cover a protest being organised by family members of those who were detained by the police in the recent firing incident in the area.

Victim Ranjit Singh Masaun, who works for a web portal, said he had questioned the police about the detained youths. He added that the cops took him inside and manhandled.
