Man held for duping people

Malout: Malout (City) police have arrested a man who allegedly posed as the personal assistant (PA) of Deputy Speaker Ajaib Singh Bhatti and duped some people by promising them jobs. The police said they had received a complaint from a local resident against Gurmeet Singh of Shekhu village. The complainant had also submitted an audio clip, wherein the accused had introduced himself as PA of the Deputy Speaker and promised job of anganwari helper to the complainant. A case under Sections 419 and 420 of the IPC has been registered in this regard. TNS
