Bathinda, July 13

Bathinda’s new SSP, Dr Nanak Singh, did not take charge on Friday despite the fact that the Police Department had made all preparations for it. Even the cops, who were to present him the guard of honour, waited for an hour or so for his arrival.

A police contingent was dressed in its guard of honour attire. Later, workers had to roll back the red carpet laid for welcoming the new SSP.

It was learnt that the SSP would come and receive the guard of honour around 12 noon on Saturday. The reason behind the SSP not coming on Friday is not known yet as all police officials remained tight-lipped over the issue.

While talking to Bathinda Tribune over phone, Bathinda SSP Dr Nanak Singh said, “I will take charge on Saturday at 12 noon.”
